We would like this section to be at least four paragraphs showing us how well you know your character. ABILITIES: What special abilities, supernatural or not, does your character have? Can they fly? Can they read minds? Are they able to swim? Please list that here, either in paragraph form or in bullet points.

ACTIVITY CHECK.
Jan. 24th, 2014 07:50 amWhat is activity check?
Activity check is when you, as a player, check your roleplaying activity in bimonthly for the mods to make sure that your characters are being active or inactive during the game. After the end of each check, the moderators will make sure that characters have signed in for their activity and drop anyone who hasn't checked themselves in. Characters who have been accepted on the month that activity check is going to happen do not have to fulfill the entire requirements; instead, they will have to do half activity, meaning that they only have to fulfill one, not two of the requirements listed below.
And please make sure that you do separate check-ins for each of your characters!
When is activity check?
Activity checks are every other month (since we're starting up mid-March, activity check will be in April, July, September, etc.) during the week before reserves open. Moderators will remind players a day before activity check starts to please do the self check-in; there will also be a notice on the calendar. Activity check lasts for a week before moderators go and check the page. There will then be a warning list that will last for three days before we start dropping characters who did not fulfill the requirements out of the game.
As our activity check is a self check-in, players are free to fill out the form prior to the start of activity check, as long as they fulfill the requirements by the end of the check.
What are the activity check requirements?
The activity check requirements are as follows:
ONE post on the main community.
AND EITHER:15 COMMENTS on a thread in the main community.OR
10 COMMENTS on a thread or post in the logs community. Please fill out the following when doing activity check:

COMMUNICATION
Aug. 6th, 2012 10:26 amThe way to communicate on Eden is the same as you would on Earth: with cell phones and laptops! These two things are given to characters upon arrival. However, each cell phone and laptop has its own design that is made for each individual.
Meaning that if their cell phones and laptops are stolen, they cannot be used. Only the original owner of said communication equipment can actually use them. They can also never be broken, as they are indestructible. However, the parts can be removed to make the equipment be unable to work.

The cell phones can do the following:
• Call, text, and video chat with other people who are on Eden.
• Take photos.
• Go on the internet.
• Download various applications that you can normally find on an iPhone, Android, what have you.

The laptops can do the following:
• Go on the internet.
• Take photos and videos.
• Download various things.
• Literally anything that you can do on a laptop.

The non-playable characters (NPCs) in Eden are robots with artificial intelligence created by the unknown creator of Eden who left the place a long time ago.
The Mayor
This jolly old man is the one to come to when you have any huge problems! After all, this nameless mayor is the authority of the world. He may not come out of his room most of the time, but he'll be there when he's really needed the most.
The Receptionists
Eden has two lovely receptionists who are as different as night and day! Literally.
Any time in the morning (from 12AM-11:59AM), you'll meet the bright and nice receptionist who goes by the name of Sunny! She'll answer all your questions with a smile.
But if you come in the afternoon or evenings (from 12PM to 11:59PM), you'll meet the gloomy Luna, who is almost always grumpy. She'll still answer any question you ask, but won't be very happy about it.
The Librarian
If you're in the spring district's library, you might run into its librarian, Lotta Knowledge! She's the woman to ask about anything book-related or even library-related. However, if you're too noisy, she won't hesitate to kick you out of the library by any means necessary.
The Janitor
Are you looking for the culprit who brought you here? Well, look no further, because the janitor who goes by the name of Scruffy is your man. He's slightly cranky, but only because he likes everything to be nice, clean, and tidy. Especially the machine that he calls his wife.
Coffee Seller
Want some coffee? Meet Joe, who's always ready to hand a cup of joe. He wanders all over town, drinking his coffee. Just don't talk to him when he doesn't have any.
Storekeepers
The people who run all the stores are two people, and they're a little clumsy. They don't have names, which is why they always go by a different name each time you see them.
1. Be respectful.
Otherwise known as treat others the way you want to be treated. Be polite to your fellow players, and remember: we are only roleplaying for fun! If you have any problems with a fellow member or moderator, feel free to contact us, and we'll try to sort it out for you.
2. IC =/= OOC.
You are not your character. Many of the players here may play characters who might be huge jerks, but that does not mean that their players are as well. Remember that in character actions have in character consequences, and the same goes with out of character actions. Also, remember that comments and remarks towards your character do not reflect on you, the player yourself.
3. Be active.
Please actually play your character. It takes two to tango, and it also takes two to actually roleplay!
4. No godmodding, metagaming, or powergaming.
You are only your character, and nobody else's. Please do not attempt to control other players' characters, or know information about their character without their permission. This also goes for out of character information. Do not assume that your characters know the information that either we, the mods, provide you, or that your fellow players provide without asking.
5. Age Limit.
We expect all members to comply to Dreamwidth's Terms of Service (TOS). This means that the minimum age to join is fifteen (15) years of age. However, we will not ask you on the application, because we expect you to be honest!
6. Keep both the main community and the logs community worksafe.

6. Keep both the main community and the logs community worksafe.
If you post anything 18+, however, we do require you to lock it to the community members only and put it under a cut. This game wasn't created for explicit concepts, though we will allow it to occur if it is in character.
7. You are not allowed to play more than two characters from the same fandom.
This is to avoid massive playercesting. If you would want to play two characters from the same fandom, however, they must not interact often in canon or at all.
8. Please run big event plots by the moderators first.
Even though we honestly do not plan to make this game very plot-based, being as it is, if you have a huge game-wide changing plot that may deal with the game as a whole, please bring it to us first so we may actually set things up. We will allow player plots; in fact, it is highly recommended!
9. Please tag all your posts.
Especially in the main and log communities. We will need these tags to verify in activity checks. Please tag with your characters' full names.
10. Please do not plagiarise your applications.
This will result in an automatic ban. All applications will go through a plagiarism check by each of the moderators prior to acceptance.

As a note: all players, including moderators, must abide by these rules before applying to the game. We'll be going on a three-strike basis for any minor problems, but if they continue to persist frequently, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Note: The Town Square is where the gray area is. Eden is a town that lies in the center of time and space — in the middle of scenic nowhere, actually. The town has four districts represented by the four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall.
The town is protected by an unbreakable barrier that keeps people safe from falling out in the atmosphere and ending up in an endless abyss. We highly recommend you trying not to destroy the barrier.
All districts have houses as far as the eye can see, and an everything-goes store where you can buy anything you want.
town square
The town square is the place where new arrivals from all over the multiverse first show up. At the center of the town square is a pretty plain fountain.
The only significant building in this part of Eden is the Town Hall, a big white building north of the fountain. Inside Town Hall is a Welcome Center as well as a receptionist desk. There is always an AI receptionist there twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, ready to answer any questions you may have, providing housing, and complete any requests you may have.
winter district
The winter district is located north-west of the town square. The district is filled with snow and it snows almost every day. In fact, the snow piles up high enough to build several snowmen, but not too high that a person cannot wander around.

SIGNIFICANT AREAS:
» Snow Resort
One of the biggest buildings in the district, the Snow Resort is the place to go and have some fun. Supplies for skiing and snowboarding are here - as well as a place to stay if you’re visiting the district for a while. There’s also a kitchen and cafeteria as well as a nice, warm, fireplace.
» Skating Rink
There’s also a small building for those who love to skate around the ice indoors! There’s also a small arcade and a food vendor that’s run by your local AIs.
» Bar
For some of our older residents, there’s a bar for drinking and partying! Naturally, the AIs will ask if you’re eighteen or older, but it honestly isn’t that hard to actually get in.
spring district
The spring district is located north-east of the town square. The district occasionally has spring showers, but is otherwise usually blooming with beautiful, sunny weather. This district has the most beautiful but sometimes unusual flowers out of all the districts in Eden.

SIGNIFICANT AREAS:
» Flower Boutique
With all the flowers in the district, there’s a need for a boutique to make them into wonderful bouquets! All the flowers that you need can be found here if you aren’t willing to pluck them from outside to make into various flower-related items such as corsages, flower bracelets, etc.
» Library
For a nice place to read, head here! The library has all the books, comics, and videos from all over the worlds - and we do mean the multiverse. As long as you’re not too noisy, you should be fine. But if you’re loud - you might actually get ejected from the library. And you wouldn’t want that, right?
» Spring Lake
Other than the fact that the AIs have no naming sense, this beautiful pristine lake is the best place to go fishing! And maybe even swim with the fish. But watch out for ones that bite!
summer district
The summer district is located south-west of the town square. Everyday, everyone can have fun in the sun and play all day! The weather in this district is usually a perfectly warm temperature which makes this district the best place to party.

It sure wouldn’t be summer without warm sand and cool ocean water! Thankfully, this beach never closes, and you should thank the lifeguards for that. Just don’t drown!
» Karaoke Parlor
Want to sing your lungs out? Then this parlor’s the place to be! Come alone or with friends - there’s always room for more! All the songs that you’ve ever heard or ever will be heard are on the playlist. There are servers here to offer anyone who goes in with food and drinks.
» Hotel Summer
The most luxurious (and only!) hotel in all of Eden is truly a nice place to stay if you’re not living in the summer district. It has everything you need in a five star hotel - amazing food, a pool and jacuzzi, the best beds you’ll ever sleep in, and much, much more.
fall district
The fall district is located south-east of the town square. This district is well known for its magic color changing leaves and its theater.

SIGNIFICANT AREAS:
» Theater
The best place to sit down and eat some popcorn is of course, at the theater. This place shows a bunch of random movies and random times of the day - and who knows, maybe you’ll even show up on the big screen. And don’t worry: there’s an amazing concession stand that’s always open for you to grab some snacks.
» School
Do you want to learn some more? Then Eden’s free-for-all school is here for you! You’ll be taught by the smartest AIs in Eden about anything and everything. But don’t expect a good education.
housing

There are houses in each and every district which are given to anyone who requests for one at the receptionist desk. Each and every house looks exactly the same at first, but by request, both the interior and exterior can be redesigned. Also, glitches may occur during housing, so if you want characters to live with others, you are free to assume that the receptionist made a mistake!
It may take a while to fix, however...
The basic housing is as follows:
• A completely white exterior, one-story house
• One bedroom, one bath
• Fully stocked kitchen with a sink and refrigerator
• Living room with a white couch and a white wide-screen television

GENERAL QUESTIONS
What exactly is “Imperfect Eden”?
Imperfect Eden is a panfandom, community-based game with no exact genre -- though it is primarily slice-of-life -- game about incompetent artificial intelligence robots who live in an abandoned amusement park world that accidentally brought characters from various worlds into their town of Eden.
Who exactly can I play here?
Any character from any fandom, whether it be animated, comics, live action, novels, etcetera. Original characters, both fandom-based and completely original are also applicable. Characters who come from alternate universe games can also be played. The only characters that are not applicable in Imperfect Eden are real life people. However, real life people who appear in a fandom are applicable.
What if I want to play a character with memories from another game?
This is completely fine, too! As long as those memories are at least two months worth of memories, they are applicable. Games that are considered as alternate universe will also be applicable on a case by case basis, though you will have to write both the game’s history and the character’s alternate universe history.
And what about duplicates?
If the characters are from separate canons (i.e. Syaoran from Cardcaptor Sakura and Syaoran from Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles; Squall from Final Fantasy VIII and Leon from Kingdom Hearts), they are applicable as separate characters and are not considered as alternate universe characters. However, if you are uncertain if the character is applicable, please ask one of the moderators in advance.
Can I play an alternate universe character here?
At the moment, we currently allow two alternate universes per character along with one canon character, making the number of characters from the same fandom and name three. “Canon Aus” as described above can also qualify as an AU. However, this will be handled by on a case-by-case basis. If this is the case, please ask on of the moderators in advance. Not all canon Aus are created equal, after all.
How exactly did my character arrive here?
One of the NPCs (specifically, the janitor) accidentally pressed a wrong button that activated a temporal shift in the universes, therefore bringing people from various universes.
What is the Activity Check like?
Activity check is a self check-in every other month (i.e: April, June, August, etc.), where players must check in for activity or else be on the risk of being removed. Activity check occurs the week before reservations open for the month and lasts for seven days. Players must submit two pieces of activity for every two months, which can consist of the following:
1. A mandatory post in one of the communities (either the main or log)
2. A thread or threads that equal up to fifteen comments on the main community from your character
3. A thread or threads that equal up to ten comments on the logs community
This may change in the future if we get feedback or player input on it.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
What happens to dead characters when they arrive?
Dead characters, if their canon point is right when they die, they will arrive the way they were a few seconds prior to their death. This means that any of their injuries prior to death will not be on them. However, if your character is taken post-death, whether they are coming from the afterlife, a ghost, a zombie, etcetera, they may be taken exactly as they are from their canon point. Of course, any character that is dead will be seen as ‘dead’ by the robot’s scanners.
What happens to character’s injuries upon arrival?
For characters who are dead, any fatal injuries will be healed prior to dying again in-game. If the character died due a disease, the disease will still remain but will not be fatal. As for injuries sustained in game, there are adequate medical facilities in the game, such as a hospital and a clinic, where characters can either have a robot fix them up or simply use the facilities themselves. The medicine in the hospital is quite advanced and can cure any injury or disease in a matter of seconds. But you probably shouldn’t trust the robots when it comes to being good doctors.
So, where do my characters arrive?
All characters arrive in Eden’s “Welcome Hall” inside the town hall, where they’re given the lowdown about why they are here as well as receive a communication device.
Okay, so what form does my character show up in?
Whatever form they were in from the canon point that you pull them from, of course. For example, if you pick up Twilight Sparkle from the My Little Pony movie while she’s a human, she’ll be a human. But if you pick her up from before she becomes a princess, she’ll be a pony unicorn, not a alicorn. The same goes for any other character. Of course, characters who have the ability to change forms, such as Mystique from Marvel’s X-men series, they can also do that in Eden as well.
What does my character bring with them?
Anything that they had on them from the canon point that they’re pulled from. If there’s anything specific that the character owns, but it didn’t come with them, just ask the moderators about it and if we give the okay, the NPCs will ICly bring it to their character within the next 24 hours. Characters who need a certain item that is absolutely necessary for them to live, such as a puella magi’s soul gem, they will find their item already on their person when they arrive.
What about pets?
Any pets will have to be on their person (or near them) upon their arrival, depending on the canon point that they take them from. If they wish to request for a pet of their own, however, characters will have to ask the receptionists to obtain a pet or create a pet store.
What are the deal with these NPCs?
All the NPCs in Eden are robots that are equipped with artificial intelligence by their creator. However, they were abandoned many decades ago, which meant that they were unable to truly grow, which means that they’re not exactly smart. However, there is a possibility that they might become smarter in the future, though the chances are slim.
What happens if my characters die?
They will stay dead for twenty four hours while the revival system cranks up automatically. Eden, after all, was originally supposed to be the perfect park, so they don’t want anybody dying permanently. Even if characters are dead, undead, or ghosts. When they wake up, they’ll find themselves in a nice, white hospital room.
What happens to dropped characters?
They get teleported elsewhere the same way they showed up. Because of an accident.
Are there places other than Eden in the world that the characters have been teleported to?
It is possible that characters will be teleported to other places in the future! This might actually be an important plot event in the future.
Why can’t they just leave?
There is an impenetrable barrier that keeps any and all characters from leaving Eden. The device that brought the characters here and cannot exactly not out of Eden.
But what if my world will die if my character leaves it?
Do not worry about that. Time is frozen in your world while your character is here at the exact nanosecond your character arrived here. If characters want to know this information, any of the NPCs will give it to them if they ask.
CHARACTER MECHANICS
What if my character has reality warping powers or enough technological expertise to mess with the portal bringing people to Eden?
The portal’s location is currently unknown due to the fact that the portal itself is an artificial intelligence, meaning that it can move and hide its location. Also, any reality warping abilities that will stop bringing people to Eden will be disabled. However, this may change in the future. We’re going to try to keep power-nerfing to the absolute bare minimum, though we would highly appreciate it if you didn't break the game.
What about characters who had different powers in their other games?
Players are allowed to choose either the powers they had in the former game or in their original canon; one or the other. However, if you have any specific questions in regards of powers, feel free to contact any of the moderators.
What happens to characters when players go on hiatus?
You have a choice to either keep them on autopilot or have them temporarily disappear from Eden.
How much can the players affect the setting of the game? Can they ever affect the setup permanently?
At the moment, they can currently affect the districts by having new buildings made. For example, if Character A wants to open a shop in a district, they can ask the receptionist at Town Hall to have it built. There is a possibility of growth in Eden, especially since this game is going to also be a huge world-building game. In the future things might change and characters might be able to affect the game's setting even more.
Would a player character who is suitably skilled with technology be able to mess with the workings of the NPCs?
Not at the moment. The NPCs are currently more advanced than any technology and they will be unable to open them. This might change in the future, however.
What if a character attacks an NPC? Would they be able to kill them? If they kill an NPC, what happens to that NPC?
It is possible to kill an NPC. Of course, this will not be without repercussions. Immediately after a death of one of the NPCs, an alarm will immediately sound, stating the location of the dead robot and the perpetrator, as decreed by the Mayor. Characters who do this will be punished severely, whether it be by other NPCs or by other characters. Of course, they will be punished by NPCs regardless, though characters will be allowed to punish them before exact NPC punishment is done. If you wish to kill an NPC, please inform the moderators beforehand so we can discuss punishment. Heavily plot relevant NPCs, however, such as Lotta Knowledge and the Mayor, cannot die and will heal over time, no matter how much damage your character does to them.
IN-GAME MECHANICS
How does currency work in Eden?
There is no currency. Everything in Eden is free, so any type of currency is useless. Of course, characters are allowed to use currency to trade or barter. Also, characters are free to convert their currency into any other currencies by asking any of the receptionists.
Can my character get a job here?
Of course! Most jobs will be considered as more or less volunteer work, but characters are allowed to start businesses to make use of that currency if they wish. There will be competition though, so be careful! Jobs are also available in the library, hospital, school, hotel, etcetera, and are all optional for your character to have. Of course, if you want your character to have a forced job, there might be a glitch in the system just for that.
My character is young. Do they have to attend school?
If a glitch happens and characters are on the school class listing (with player permission, of course), then yes! However, it is not an absolute necessary and the only punishment characters will get for not attending is good old detention.
How do tags work?
Players must tag for their characters whenever they post and/or reply to a thread in the main community and log community with their canon name, character names and whether they are OU or AU. If the character is AU, please make sure to have their AU number. Of course, we will also be giving you the tag (in case we have to shorten it for Dreamwidth) when you are accepted.
Example: imperfect eden: lotta knowledge (ou), imperfect eden: lotta knowledge (au1)
What about NSFW content?
Anything that is not safe for work (basically, anything that is smut-related or have mild trigger warnings) must be locked and have warnings inside the communities.
What kinds of plots can we expect here?
Most plots here will be player-driven, though there will be at least one plot or event driven by the moderators per month, varying from slice-of-life to horror! Basically, expect anything at any given moment!
